Stavropol State Medical University was founded in the year 1938. Since the time of its inception it has produced highly skilled professionals working all over the world. Their success is the pride of the University. The University is located in the city of Stavropol which is considered the pearl of South Russia. For centuries people from other nations have been living in Stavropol in peace and following their cultures and traditions. In present times the university is one of the most sought after educational and scientific medical center of the country.

 

In 2010 the university received its license and the State Accreditation Certificate.

Infrastructure

 

The University has 7 faculties where 4500 Russian and foreign students from other countries of the world study. In 2011 the Stavropol State Medical University opened new areas of specialization in the fields of defectology, biology, biotechnology, physiotherapy, economics and social work.

The University has computer classes, internet center, a modern library with 500000 copies of books and periodicals, its own newspaper ‘Medicus’ and a scientific practice magazine.

Lecture-rooms, laboratories and libraries do not limit a student’s life. The University has 4 student hostels, a sports complex with a swimming pool, gym and sauna. There is a sports camp on the Black Sea coast of the North Caucasus, where the teachers and students have a camp every year

Highlights

 

The university received the International Award ‘Earthmaker’, which certifies belonging to a community of world leaders of various industries, sciences, cultures and national health services.

Some of the title and awards received include the title ‘Flagman of XXI Century’, the Gold Medal for the International Biography Center and the Gold Diploma for the World Sciences International Forum, the winner of the All-Russia Economy Project ‘Modernization Leaders’ for ‘Enterprise of the Year 2010’.

Many scientific research papers submitted by the students on public health have been recognized internationally.

Stavropol State Medical University is one of the few Russian medical universities recognized by the Medical Council of India. The University is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools published by the World Health Organization (WHO) which enables our graduates to hold a job in any country after clearing the screening test.
